Ranfurly Castle Ladies do well in the County Foursomes

The Inter County Foursomes were played yesterday over Cochrane Castle and some Ranfurly Castle ladies did well
Heather Davidson partnered by Norah Adams from Kilmacolm won the Handicap Award.
Anne Judge & Sally Smyth (Ranfurly Castle) qualified for the Inter County Finals on June 3rd at Ballochmyle in the scratch section and Denise Cowan & Jackie MacDonald in the handicap section
Denise Cowan & Jackie MacDonald and Evy McGregor & Jean Irvine will both be representing Renfrewshire in the Commonwealth Spoons at Cathkin Braes in September.

Winter Greensomes Winners 2009-2010

Margaret Parrott and Vivien Howe have won this competition, beating Rosemary Ogilvie and Evelyn McDermid in the Final which was played on Monday 26th April.
Congratulations!
My thanks to all the participants in what has been a "trying year" as far as playing ties has been concerned, but we got there in the end!!

JUNIOR GIRLS FUN GOLF COACHING SESSION

On Sunday 16th May, 2010 there will be a "FUN GOLF" coaching session at Playsport Golf, East Kilbride G74 5LB.
Starting at 10.00am, for about an hour and a half.
The session will cost £3.00 and the remainder subsidised by Renfrewshire Ladies County Golf Association..
All girls who do not have a handicap are very welcome. This will be a great oppurtunity to meet other girls in your area.

Shona wins the Winter 12 Hole 2009-2010 Comp!

The Final of the above Winter competition was played on Sunday afternoon (18th April) between Margaret Gray and Shona Gray, with Shona winning what was I believe, a very "even match". Congratulations to Shona.

Elidh Briggs from Kilmacolm became the 2010 Renfrewshire County Champion today. In flawless golf she was 6 under par for 25 holes for todays play. Renfrewshire County Championship Qualifier

On a lovely sunny day but with a tricky east wind the qualifying round for the Renfrewshire County Championship was played today on a very much improved course from last week.
The best score of the day was by Clare-Marie Carlton from Fereneze who had a gross 73.
The CSS for the day was 75. Anne Judge was the only Ranfurly Castle player to feature in the draw for the matchplay stages but is unable to play tomorrow.

Natasha wins the first County Medal at Ralston

The 1st Renfrewshire County Medal was played over Ralston Golf Club yesterday and Ranfurly Castle players featured in the winners list.
Natasha Qayum was the overall winner with a gross 76 net 69 and Carol Fell was 3rd in the Handicap Group - Scratch - 12 . New Ranfurly Castle member Jackie MacDonald was the winner of the 13+ handicap group.

Renfrewshire Ladies County Membership Handicap limit now 24

Please consider joining the County.
The handicap limit has now been moved from 20 to 24, allowing more ladies to get involved and "spread their wings a little".
There are 5 Medals, Spring Meeting, Championship Open Day (this year at Ranfurly Castle, next week infact 14th-16th)Foursomes and Greensomes competitons. There is also a Winter Foursomes knockout competition.
