EASTER FUN COMPETITION

The Annual Easter Fun competition took place on Easter Monday, 28th March 2106.
Bunnies were hiding on the course waiting to be spotted which proved more difficult than you would think, with only one team managing to spot all 6.  The golf was good fun with free shots allowed at various points but the weekend rain meant that instead of the ball running it was more like 'splash'!

The winning team were Pamela Mackenzie, Chris Minto and Helen Crichton with 53 points (BIH)
Runners up were Jean Irvine, Joy McLeod and Eileen Walker also with 53 points.

The Easter Bonnets on display at lunch were very inventive but the winner was Jean Murray, chosen by  our new catering team.  Congratulations  to all those who took part.

BRIDGE SOCIAL NIGHT

Thank you to all who came along on Wednesday night and made the evening such a success.  We raised £262.00 for Transplant Sport  from the raffle which is wonderful and will be much appreciated.  The Ladies Committee provided a very high class supper and worked very hard serving everyone tea and coffee - not to mention clearing up afterwards.  Thank you to everyone for your time given.   The winners on the night were Pamela Wilson and partner for the Small Slam and Vicky for the main bridge prize - congratulations!

A FEW REMINDERS

In case some of you would like to play in the Ladies/Gents Texas Scramble on Sat.26th March but do not have either a team or a partner, there is a list in the Locker room for you to sign up on.  Paul will put you in a team so not to worry.  He is keen to have as many mixed teams as possible.

An email was sent out to all members regarding the Members' Forum on Wed 30th March when Scottish Golf's local Development Officer - Claire Middleton - will be hosting the evening.  This will allow you to put forward the areas you would like the Club to focus on and is the next step on from the  Members Questionnaire.  It is hoped that as many as possible will register interest with Ronnie but so far we only have 4 Ladies names.  Remember it is your club and this is your chance to let the Board know what you would like it to concentrate on in the future.

The Committee has posted a notice on the Notice Board looking for volunteers who would be prepared to commit to playing in the lunchtime ballot on specific dates.  This is an attempt to prevent any member  from being the only player at lunch time.   Members will still have to notify Tom of their intention to play before 1pm on the Tuesday and the Volunteer would then be able to check with Tom whether or not they would be required the next day.  A full explanation is provided with the notice in the locker room.  If you are happy to volunteer for any of the dates could you please add your names to the list.  Thank you in anticipation.

MARIE CURIE 5 CLUB STABLFORD

As a result of the heavy overnight rain, I have been unformed by James that more than half the holes will have temporary greens.  Consequently I have decided that today we will play a 5 Club Stableford and the Marie Curie Trophy will now be played for on Wednesday 29th June when there is a Stableford Competition already in the diary.  As a result of this mats will be allowed if you wish and lets hope that rain will not be a regular feature during this season.  Happy golfing!!!!

Ladies and Gents Texas Scramble

Captain Paul Morrell has put the entry sheet for the Ladies and Gents Texas Scramble on the main notice board.  It is on Saturday 26th March with a shotgun start at 9am.  Cost is £7.50 which includes pie, beans and chips or soup and a sandwich afterwards and the prize giving.   Paul is very keen for the Ladies to enter in teams of 4, mixed teams or - if you are unable to get a 4 - as a 2 and he will try to team you up.  I realise this is Easter Saturday so some of you may be away but perhaps you will give it some thought.

MARCH REMINDERS

Just a reminder that the Golf Season starts on Wed 9th March with the Marie Curie 5 Club competition.  Hopefully it will stop raining and let us play without wet feet.  Just normal ballot times on the day.
The entry sheet for our Fun Easter competition has gone up in the locker room so if you are available on Monday 28th March please enter your name and we will be delighted to see you.   The day is good fun with treats galore and a prize for the best head wear!  The draw for teams and times will be made before, so remember to check in plenty of time.
Entry sheets for the Silver and Bronze Knockouts, the Summer Foursomes and the Winter Greensomes are also all on the Notice board - please sign up.
Finally you should have had an email from Ronnie telling you of the arrival of the diary.  Hopefully you will have time to collect yours so that the important dates can be noted before your social diary is filled up.
Looking forward to seeing as many of you as possible on 9th March.
