MCLACHLAN CUP & SPRING MEETING - DATE CHANGE

Please note that the dates of the McLachlan Cup and Spring Meeting for Captains Prizes have been swapped around.

Spring Meeting now Wednesday 22nd June (Stableford competition)

McLachlan Cup now Wednesday 29th June. (Foursomes Stableford, one silver and one bronze player in a team)

Apologies for the late notice and inconvenience on this change. This is due to a change of date for a commitment outside the club for your Lady Captain.
The change has been made on the app and entry for both is via SG app.

FRIENDLY V KILMACOLM 23rd MAY

 Unfortunately this fixture was abandoned as we were not able to raise a team.

Kilmacolm are still keen to play so we will look at a date in September tba.

Please please make your self available for this fixture in September if you possibly can. These matches are great fun and help us develop good relations with our neighbouring courses.

WEST RENFREWSHIRE LEAGUE V RALSTON 19th MAY

 Away to Ralston on 19th May was our first fixture in this years West Renfrewshire League.

Always a difficult match, this year proved no different as we lost 5/1 to a strong Ralston team.

Ralston made our team very welcome and all who played enjoyed the game.

Big thanks to all who played and represented Ranfurly Castle so well.

Good luck to the girls playing in the next match against Caldwell at home on Tuesday 31st May.

FUN JUBILEE COMPETITION RESULTS

Everyone was in a celebratory mood at todays fun competition to mark the Queens Platinum Jubilee.

Despite the wet, windy weather, and the reduced number of holes, the ladies had great fun with the challenges set up by Evelyn, Lilias and Rosemary.

Thanks to Evelyn, Lilias and Rosemary for organising the day. Special mention to Jim Ogilvie who cheerfully manned the starters hut all morning, handing out instructions....and "Celebrations"!

Thanks to Leanna for the delicious afternoon tea in the clubhouse afterwards.

Prizes very kindly provided by Evelyn McDermid (to be handed out at ladies dinner).

McMILLAN CANCER STABLEORD RESULTS

24 ladies played over both Wednesday 11th May and Saturday 14th May, raising money for the McMillan Cancer Support charity. Sadly the windy weather on Wednesday reduced the number of entrants but £94 was still raised for the charity.

2022 LADIES INVITATION DAY - SAVE THE DATE! - 12th AUGUST

I am pleased to tell you that we will be holding our Ladies Invitation Day on Friday 12th August.

Each lady member may invite one guest. The format will be 2-ball Betterball to be followed by lunch.

GREENLEES MATCH v LOUDON GOWF MON 9th MAY

 The ladies in our Greenlees team gamely braved the wind and rain on Monday to play in the first match of the 2022 Greenlees campaign.

Unfortunately, the match had to be abandoned due to persistent heavy rain and flooding on the course.

The fixture has been re-arranged for 12th September.

CONGRATULATIONS TO LESLEY ROBERTSON!

 

COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP

The RLCGA County Championship took place at a windy Erskine GC on Wed 4th May with 54 players taking part in the qualifying event.

Lesley Robertson (Ranfurly Castle) had the lowest gross score of 75. Lesley also had the lowest nett score of 72 (bih) and is the winner of the Peggy Clark Trophy.

Congratulations to Lesley from all at Ranfurly Castle!

LINDA MacDOUGALL - SAD NEWS

I am very sorry to inform you that past member Linda MacDougall passed away suddenly yesterday.

Many of us will remember Linda with great fondness. She had a bubbly personality and a smile for everyone. We have missed her since she and Donald decided to move to Gullane a few years ago to be nearer to children and grandchildren.

Thoughts are with her husband Donald, her children, grandchildren and the rest of her family and friends at this very sad and difficult time.

Funeral details will be posted when known.
