FINAL GREENLEES MATCH

A very pleasant, sunny day at Cathkin Braes yesterday. And a very pleasant surprise to most of us with the result. We lost 5-4 but, all things considered, 4 points was a pretty good haul.

We finish the season on 42.5 points. This is really a fantastic effort from the team, playing in Division 1.

We are currently top of the league - although this is akin to being Leader in the Clubhouse on the PGA tour with the final 3 groups still to finish. Some teams still have three matches to play and points to accrue! But we will take it. Undoubtedly safe from relegation, so Division 1 again next year.

Well played to all the team, and well done once again to Anne Judge for arranging it all so well, as usual. Our schedule of 2 matches in May, 2 in June, 2 in July, and 2 in August was well spread and we were lucky none had to be rearranged. I'm sure she will just love to do it all again in 2026!

GREENLEES RESULT

The team played the final home game of the season this afternoon, against Kilmarnock Barassie. A good 6-3 win, which puts us in what appears to be a safe position in the league (it is hard to predict outcomes at this stage as several teams still have about half their matches to play).

Our final 2025 match will be next Monday, away at recent league winners Cathkin Braes. This will be a tough challenge but we can only go and try our best. Fingers crossed for a nice day and lots of luck.

GREENLEES MATCH RESULTS

Two good home wins recently for the team. 

Firstly a 7.5/1.5 win against Kilmacolm on Monday 7 July, followed by a narrower 5/4 win this Monday 14 July at home to Irvine Bogside.

All to play for in the last two matches of the season in August (one at home and one away)

GREENLEES TEAM RESULTS

The Greenlees team has had 2 away matches in the last 7 days.

Firstly a 5-4 loss away at Williamwood on Tuesday 17th June, which we didn't think was too bad considering the tricky away course. 

And then, today, a miracle 6-3 WIN away at Troon Portland, in a howling gale! Well played everyone, fantastic result.

 Well done!  The Greenlees team played in awful conditions on Monday afternoon, resulting in a  well deserved home victory against Prestwick St Nicolas.  The final result was a fantastic 7.5 versus 1.5 win for the Ranfurly Castle ladies. Great result. 

TEAM MATCH RESULTS

GREENLEES

The Greenlees team began their foray back into Division 1 with an away game at Milngavie on Monday. A 6.5/2.5 loss wasn't ideal but also not a disaster away from home. Special mention to Captain Pauline who stepped up and played her first Greenlees match, following a last minute call off. 

WEST RENFREWSHIRE LEAGUE

The West Ren team started their 2025 campaign with a home game against Gourock on Thursday evening. Congrats to the team of Louise, Pauline, Kate, Joy, Eleanor and rookie Sheila S, who managed to get a 3.5/2.5 victory in a tight match.

Both matches played in glorious weather - long may it continue!

Many congratulations to our Greenlees Team who have finished 2nd in their league and are therefore promoted to the 1st division! Once again the Greenlees team were on fine form on Monday, winning their match against Cardross at Ranfurly Castle 8 - 1! Congratulations to all players and many thanks to Anne Judge for her organisation of the team.

GREENLEES MATCH

Another fine win for the Greenlees team! Many congratulations to all team members for the resounding 8 - 1 victory over Whitecraigs yesterday. Fabulous!

FIRST GREENLEES MATCH

The 2024 Greenlees campaign kicked off today at Hilton Park Golf Club, over the Allander Course.

I am delighted to report that, not only did we all get round dry, but also the team managed an excellent 6-3 win.

Well done girls!

GREENLEES UPDATE

 We must all thank the ladies who are playing on behalf of the club in this prestigious league.

Having been promoted to Div 1 after last years campaign, our team have battled hard in the matches against very strong opposition.

Recent results:

• 22nd Aug Home match v Troon. Close result but Troon won 5 games to 4
• 29th Aug Home match v Cathkin Braes. Cathkin Braes won 6 games to 3

One final match to play - a rearranged fixture against Loudon Gowf at home on 12th September

GREENLEES UPDATE

 Many thanks to the ladies who continue to turn out for our Greenlees team.

There are two recent results to report.

• 25th July Haggs Castle (away)      5.5/3.5 loss
• 8th August Williamwood (home)    9/0 loss

The remaining 3 matches are at home, so the team hopes for some better results.
The other clubs are fielding some very strong teams, often with single figure handicaps, so well done to our ladies to win some of the games.

GREENLEES RESULT 4th JULY

 Our Greenlees team played away at Prestwick St Nicholas on Monday 4th July.

Thankfully the weather has improved for these matches!

Thanks to all the girls who played, but unfortunately, with a depleted team, it was a 7/2 loss.

Special mention to Helen Abram who scored a half in her very first Greenlees appearance. Drafted in at the last minute and not having played the course before. Well done Helen!

GREENLEES RESULT 27th June - Milngavie (Away)

Unfortunately our Greenlees team lost 7/2 to Milngavie, played at Milngavie.
That makes 2 points from each of the away matches in a very hotly contested league.

Next match is Prestwick St Nicholas away on Monday 4th July. Best of luck girls!

GREENLEES RESULT 13th JUNE - KILMARNOCK BARASSIE (AWAY)

 Our Greenlees ladies played away today down the coast at Kilmarnock Barassie.

It was another cool, dull day like the many others we've had so far this June!

Despite the best efforts of our ladies, unfortunately the result was not in our favour, with a strong Barassie team winning 7 games to 2.

Best of luck to the team for their next match away to Milngavie on 27th June.

GREENLEES MATCH v LOUDON GOWF MON 9th MAY

 The ladies in our Greenlees team gamely braved the wind and rain on Monday to play in the first match of the 2022 Greenlees campaign.

Unfortunately, the match had to be abandoned due to persistent heavy rain and flooding on the course.

The fixture has been re-arranged for 12th September.

GREENLEES TEAM WIN DIVISION!

Congratulations to all the Greenlees team members for a great season, finishing top of the Second Division!  The team will be promoted back to the First Division.  Thanks to Anne Judge for captaining the team. Good luck next year!

GREENLEES MATCH v LOUDEN GOWF

The Greenlees team had a strong finish to their season with a 6.5/2.5 win at home against Louden Gowf, giving them a total of 47 points.  Well done to all those who played this season!

GREENLEES MATCH AT AYR BELLEISLE

The Greenlees team had a good match yesterday losing 5.5/3.5 away from home on an unfamiliar course against Ayr Belleisle.  Their final match of the season is at home to Louden Gowf on Monday 16th.
