Renfrewshire Junior County Fun Event
The RLCGA County Junior Committee has organised a ‘Fun’ event which will be held at the Playsport Centre in East Kilbride on Saturday, 13th August from 10am to 11.30am. Our Renfrewshire PGA Professional, Lesley Mackay, is planning several interesting activities for this coaching session.
We are asking Junior Convenors to pass on this information to girls in their clubs. All girls are invited whether they have a CONGU handicap, Club handicap or no handicap but are keen to improve their golf.
The cost of the session is £5 and is payable by cash on the day or by cheque made out to RLCGA.
Could the Convenors or the girls let me know in advance how many wish to attend. You can contact me at mf.mitchell@btinternet.com or leave a message on my phone at 01505 705450.

All ladies can play in the Stableford Competition. Ladies over 50 yrs may enter into the Veterans Trophy & over 65 yrs in the Gillies Trophy.
Here are some recent videos of Janet Gillies who wishes you all well

Scottish Ladies Foursomes--- Why not Enter ?
The Entries for the Scottish Ladies Stroke Play Foursomes Championship which is to be played at Glenbervie Golf Club on Sunday 28 August are soon to close. Please note that the conditions for this competition have changed quite considerably this year in that a pair no longer have to be members of the same club – i.e. any two ladies from any two clubs can now play with each other providing they are members of clubs that are affiliated to the SLGA and providing their CONGU handicaps are each 35 or less.
I have attached a copy of the entry form as well as a link to the entry form on the SLGA web-site.

Greenlees Team lose to Kilmarnock Barassie
Iona enjoys her 1st Greenlees Match - Click to enlarge |
Today the Greenlees team travelled to Kilmarnock Barassie to play our 5th match of the season. The weather was very benign with lovely playing conditions. The course was great with fabulous greens. Unfortunately, the outcome was not quite as good. We lost 8 - 1, but four of the games did go to the 18th, so we were very close to a different outcome.
One of those matches included our 'Rookie' Iona, (pictured above) who did very well and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The company was good and as usual the 'apres golf' was excellent.

County Golf Open Meeting & Scottish Mixed Foursomes Closing Dates
County Golf Open Meeting
Please could you remind your County Members that the closing date for the County Golf Open Meeting is fast approaching. They have until Monday 18 July to enter this competition which will be held at Peterculter Golf Club on Tuesday 16 August. The uptake for this event has so far been fairly low so please remind your County Members that this event is taking place and is open to ALL members of a Scottish Ladies County Golf Association. Entrants can choose to play with their friends or elect to play with someone else so it is a great opportunity to have a day out and play with friends or to meet and play with new people.

Scottish Mixed Foursomes
The closing date for the Scottish Mixed Foursomes competition is also on Monday 18 July. This is just a mixed open like any other and is open to any mixed pair that satisfy the entry criteria. The only difference is that the scratch prizes get the priority. This year's competition is at Mortonhall Golf Club on Sunday 21st August in Edinburgh which by all accounts is in excellent condition and is well worth the trip.
