CHARITY YELLOW BALL STABLEFORD RAISES £105

The Charity Yellow Ball Stableford was played yesterday on Monday 20th May  in  aid of Macmillan Cancer Research.
There were 11 teams of 3 and the weather was beautiful !!!!

DENISE COWAN DOES WELL AT THE SCOTTISH CHAMPIONSHIPS

Many congratulations go to Denise Cowan who qualified for the Clark Rosebowl at the Scottish Championships last week at Longniddry Golf Club.
Denise reached the semi finals and was narrowly beaten

Charity Yellow Ball

After discussing alternative dates with Ronnie,  we have decided to go for Monday 20th May.

To try and make life easier, we have kept the original start sheet as was and ask that you contact Eileen or myself it you are unable to play on that day.
We would also welcome any others who would like to add their names to the sheet as reserves.
We can only hope that the weather improves by then!

Scottish Girls Close Amateur Championship

As you are aware, we will be hosting the SLGA Scottish Girls Close Amateur Championship at RCGC from 15 - 20th July 2013.
The SLGA have asked us to find volunteers to help with live scoring on Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th July.  The way I understand this to work is as follows:- volunteers would be at the 3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th, 15th and 18th greens.  As the groups of girls come through, you would record their scores at the previous three holes and then radio them back to the clubhouse.  Instructions on the use of radios will be given!
Volunteers will be on a rota basis and there is a list up in the locker room with time slots allocated.  If you have a spare couple of hours on either of these days it would be appreciated if you could help with this task.
The SLGA still have to carry out their course inspection, but we anticipate that ball spotters may/will be required at the 9th and 15th holes.

If you have any questions concerning the above, please contact me and I will do my best to answer them.

Congratulations go to Denise Cowan who had a excellent round at West Kilbride in the 2013 West of Scotland Championship.

Macmillan Cancer Relief

After the cancellation of the Macmillan Cancer Strokeplay in April, I blogged that the money raised in the Charity Yellow Ball Stableford (May) would be forwarded onto Macmillan Cancer Relief.
The committee has  decided to award  the Nan MacGregor painting to the winner of the July Stableford (24th).

McLachlan Cup

Having spoken to Tom, the next free date for the McLachlan Cup would be Friday 10th May 2013.
I think the easiest thing to do, is to leave the start sheet as is and if you are unable to play then let your partner and myself know.  I will hopefully have a 'revised' start sheet  up by Wednesday 8th May.
