DENISE COWAN WINS HER DEBUT SINGLES TIE FOR RENFREWSHIRE COUNTY

Many congrats go to Denise Cowan who is playing for the Renfrewshire Ladies County Team in the Scottish County Finals which started today at Hilton Park Golf Club.
Renfrewshire drew with East Lothian  and Denise won her singles tie.

CHARITY YELLOW BALL STABLEFORD

Twenty seven ladies took part to-day in what turned out to be another fun day of golf. The weather was kind to us yet again and the greens as tricky as ever. Despite that, there were some very good scores.

RANFURLY CASTLE GREENLEES TEAM FINISH 4TH IN A VERY CLOSELY CONTESTED 1ST DIVISION

Final points - Division 1

Many congratulations go to Cathkin Braes who beat Troon Ladies at Troon to lift the Greenlees Trophy in the final match of the 2014 season.
Ranfurly Castle have finished in 4th position in what was one of the most tightly contested first division ever !
 -- Many congrats go to Anne Judge and all her team players on what was an excellent finish in such a competitive field

Yesterday, 24 ladies enjoyed a beautiful, warm sunny afternoon at Stirling Golf Club.  The fairways were wide and the greens fantastic!  The chat was lively and the high tea delicious - strawberry tarts, yummy!

What a lovely day - all thanks to Lilias Snodgrass and Jan Macnab.
42 ladies enjoyed a great fun competition in excellent weather.
The tees at 125yds from the greens were more than just a bit interesting, on slopes, under trees, on hillocks, on the occasional path which some of us didn't know existed but certainly not in the middle of the fairway as we'd all expected or hoped for!
This competition was not about prizes unless 125 pink bonbons or 125 orange tees was a golfing dream but was about the participation of the ladies as a club.
Our outright winner was Anne Judge - congratulations. Many thanks to Joy Mcleod who made a beautiful chocolate cup cake for each lady to have with coffee.
There was a rendition of Happy Birthday to Ranfurly Castle Golf Club, the less said about that the better.

Many congratulations to our new Ladies Champion Denise Cowan and commiserations to Mary Craig our gallant runner-up.
Evy Macgregor and Maureen Cook were the caddies.
Almost 30 ladies followed the match in fairly warm, sunny weather cooled by a light breeze.  The course was in excellent condition although the greens were quite fast.
Congratulations also go to Gregor Munro who won the Men's Championship and Morag and Andrew Cunningham who won the Mixed Championship.
