LADIES DINNER -- SALLY SMYTH IS PRESENTED WITH THE 125TH ANNIVERSARY MEDAL

The Ladies annual dinner was held on Wednesday 22nd October. It was attended by 51 ladies, thanks to all for supporting the dinner.


The Medal prizes were presented and well done to Sally Smyth who was presented with the 125th Anniversary Medal.

WINTER BOUNCE GAMES

Now that the Final Swing has taken place we will be returning to the usual Wednesday bounce games for the winter season starting next Wed - 22nd October.  Start time will be 9.30 am and all those eligible to play will be very welcome.

There will also be an informal bounce game on Mondays which is open to all categories of membership and everyone is welcome.  Start time is 9.30 am and this will begin on
Monday 20th October.

COUNTY WINTER FOURSOMES TIE GOES TO THE 19TH

Agnes Williamson and Jean Irvine  played Lilias Snodgrass and Pat Pennel  in the first round of the RLCGA Winter Foursomes yesterday.
Beautiful day, course looking great, however Agnes and Jean were 4 down after 5!! But they fought back to square the match, however they lost at the 19th. Photograph shows us having a glass of win to celebrate Helen Abrams granddaughters birth!

LADIES ANNUAL DINNER WEDNESDAY 22ND OCTOBER

Could I remind anyone who has still to pay that cheques/cash can be put in the envelopes provided in the locker room and placed in the score card box. It would be appreciated if this could be done prior to the event.

FINAL SWING - MAUREEN COOK IS THE WINNER

The Final Swing 12 Hole Stableford Competition was played on 15th October 2014
Pleasant, dry conditions prevailed for the 20 players.

Winner - Maureen Cook - 27 points (14)
Runner-Up - Anne Judge - 25 points (10)

Congratulations  to Helen Abram on becoming a Granny for the 1st time and thank you for the glass of wine which was enjoyed by all at the end of the game.

DENISE RETAINS THE COUNTY RENFREWSHIRE COUNTY ROSEBOWL

The RLCGA ROSEBOWL FINAL  was played between Ranfurly Castle's Denise Cowan and Maureen Taggart (Old Ranfurly) on Friday 10th October, having been postponed from Monday 7th due to bad weather. When play started, the rain had not long gone off and we were left with wet ground conditions but sunny skies overhead.
Denise got off to a great start winning the first 5 holes with steady golf.
Maureen was struggling a bit playing off the wet ground and did not really make use of the 10 shots she was receiving. She looked like turning the match around when she halved the 6th and won the 7th, but a birdie from Denise at the 9th stopped the comeback.
More good play saw Maureen win the 11th and 12th but it was a little too late. Denise steadied herself again and retained the Rosebowl on the 14th.

WINTER SINGLES 12 HOLE KNOCKOUT

Anyone wishing to play in the above should put their name down prior to Monday 20th October. The entry form can be found on the notice board in the locker room. You will note this year the holes being played have been changed to 1st -6th and 12th - 17th. This means you are still heading for the clubhouse in the event of a tie.
