Ladies July Medal

As a result of the torrential rain last night, in which two ladies were caught, the above competition has been abandoned due to unplayable conditions.
After checking with Tom if we could replay the medal next Wednesday, I was advised that summer maintenance on the green would have started and there was a chance we may be on temporary greens.
Every effort will be made to find another date and we will advise you in due couse.

CHARITY TRI - AM STABLEFORD

Played 18th June 2012 on a lovely sunny day! 7 teams entered and the sum of £60.00 was raised for Epilepsy Scotland.  The results were as follows:-

Winners - Allison Murray, Cynthia Keanie and Vicky Rennie with 47 pts.

Runners up - Moira Wilson, Jean Murray and Pamela Wilson with 43pts.

Only 7 ladies braved the weather today and played a few holes in our Past Captains Golf  Competition which was eventually cancelled and everyone returned for lunch which was enjoyed by all.


Janet Gillies, the eldest Past Captain attended and enjoyed the lunch making a speech to thank everyone for a good day.

Lilias and Jean do well in the Renfrewshire County Foursomes Finals

The West Ladies Inter-County Foursomes Final was held on Monday at Hamilton Golf Club. The rain stopped in time for the start of the competition and the competitors enjoyed the course which was in good condition.

West Vets play match at Ranfurly Castle

Carol Fell and Maureen Cook represented the West Vets Team against Midlands yesterday. The match was played over Ranfurly Castle. Captain Fiona Roger was delighted to retain the Midwest Trophy.

27 ladies played on a lovely day.  Format Blind Partners was enjoyed by all. 
Winners were Marion Munro, Alison Robertson and Morag Smith with Linda MacDougall, Jackie McDonald and Sally Smyth 2nd.  
Best Dressed was Lilias Snodgrass.  
Quiz winners,both teams with maximum points were Evy MacGregor, Anne Robinson, Lilias Snodgrass and Alison Robertson and Dorothy Simpson.

Greenlees Team lose Away to Troon

The Greenlees team played Troon Ladies on Monday - at Troon. On arrival they were shocked to see that 6 out of the 9 of the opposing team were "very young "!
 Natasha Qayum led the Ranfurly Castle team out and put up a great fight against Scottish Under 18 Internationalist Connie Jaffrey and only just lost, and those who did lose were all just pipped at either the 17th or 18th green. Anne Robinson had a very good half against another very well known Scottish youngster Katie McGarvie, Anne Judge won on the 18th against the "oldest" Troon team member -- well known West of Scotland and Renfrewshire player Heather Anderson and finally Nancy MacGadie had a very good win as well. The team lost 6-3 but perhaps better than they thought after looking at the draw sheet before play!

There will be a Jubilee Fun Game on Tuesday 5th June at 9.30 am.  Please add your name to the sheet in the locker room if you are interested to give us idea of numbers.  The draw will take place on Tuesday at 9.30 am so if you want to play meet in the locker room about 9.15 am.  Red, white and blue clothing is essential!
