Sorry to have to report that today's competition has been cancelled. James has advised that due to snow still lying from 7 -10 at the moment it would not be advisable. I will check course availability and re schedule as soon as possible. I will blog information later on today.

MACMILLAN CANCER STABLEFORD
36 Ladies played in the Stableford Competition today 26th April. The weather threw all seasons at us and the morning ballot got the best of the sunshine, but it was bitterly cold. At least they did not need to contend with blizzards and white greens!

LADIES SOCIAL NIGHT SUCCESS
The Ladies Social night on Thursday was enjoyed by 45 members and 6 guests from Kilmacolm, Old Ranfurly and Elderslie. Judging by the noise during supper, everyone was enjoying the evening and the chat. Eleanor Cannon presented us with the challenges that lie ahead for the newly formed Scottish Golf Ltd and how they hope to be able to help clubs move forward. A lot of work will be done to secure funding that clubs can access to encourage the next generation to play but the clubs themselves need to be prepared to change! Eleanor answered a range of questions but stated that the work is just beginning. At the end of the evening our guests left with quite a few spoils from the raffle!
Thanks go to Jean for putting together the collage of photos from the night.

Evening with Tom, David and James - 18th April
Just a wee reminder that on Monday 18th at 7.30 Tom, David and James are holding an evening of information for everyone. Tom will be showing personal club fitting and explaining all the new technology and how it can help to improve your game. David is going to explain the importance of warm up exercises from a professional sport science point of view and will no doubt be looking for volunteers to demonstrate! James will give a brief explanation of the work he has already done on the course and let us know his plans for the future. I hope that as many of you as possible will be able to come along and support the evening.

APRIL MEDAL AND 9 HOLE COMPETITION
At last the April Medal was played today but very wet underfoot!
Unfortunately there is a 'System' problem so we are unable to post the results at the moment. Hopefully this will be sorted fairly quickly and both the Medal and 9 Hole results will be reported as soon as possible.
We have a very large selection of books in the locker room so all you avid readers do not need to buy any new ones for a while! Just call in at the club and put £1.00 in the jar and take your pick.

APRIL MEDAL
Unfortunately, having taken advice from James, I have had to re scheduled Wed 6th April Medal. The course conditions are so wet and with more heavy rain forecast for overnight and tomorrow as well, the ground will not be suitable for a competition.
The new date is now NEXT Wed 13th April. I realise that this is the 9 hole competition and this will go ahead as planned, but the starting times will move forward an hour. This means that the times for the 9 hole will start at the 4th from 11.00am. This should mean you will slot in behind the last groups playing in the medal.
Some people who have signed up for the 9 hole may prefer to play in the medal and this is fine. We will put up a new notice for the 9hole with new times so just re enter your name. If you are unable to get to the course to add your name just contact myself and I will do it for you.
