AZALEAS

A huge thank you to all the ladies who have donated such an amazing number of azaleas for the golf course.  These have been given to Craig who is planning to plant them over the next week beside the 12th green.  Over the next few years this area should be a riot of colour as they grow and fill some of the space.  Don't worry if you haven't had time to donate and would still like to - we will be delighted with more!!
Also, thank you to Maureen and Pamela for having the idea in the first place and getting the Board to approve.

SPRING MEETING FOR CAPTAIN'S PRIZES

Thanks to all the ladies who turned out to play on Wednesday 29 May, despite the disappointing wet weather. 25 ladies played in the 18 hole competition and a further 11 played 12 holes. The scores were generally good, so it didn't seem to put everyone off too much!

GREENLEES TEAM WIN AT HOME

I am pleased to report that the Greenlees team has won the first home game of the season today, 7-2 against Troon. Captain Anne is delighted! Well done girls.

MACMILLAN CANCER RELIEF STABLEFORDS

To give more players the chance to enter and to raise more for the MacMillan charity, this year for the first time players could enter and play for the prize picture on both Wednesday 13 and Saturday 18 May 2019.  They were separate competitions for handicap/CSS purposes but with one overall winner and runner-up.

22 players entered over both days.

FIRST GREENLEES MATCH OF THE SEASON

The Greenlees team started the 2019 season away at Douglas Park today.
Several of the team regulars were on holiday and we approached the match with some trepidation, despite the nice sunny weather. As feared, the home advantage was decisive and we lost 6-3.
Particular thanks to the committed Ranfurly Castle ladies who don't regularly play in the team but turned out for their club, some at very short notice. It was appreciated.

RANFURLY CASTLE PLAYERS THROUGH TO GRAND FINAL

East Renfrewshire Golf Club hosted the Scottish Womens Regional Medal Final (West Division) yesterday, Sunday 12 May 2019.

Ranfurly Castle was represented by Jan Macnab (Silver division) and Helen Abram (Bronze division). The qualifiers were determined by the 4 best medal scores during 2018, with competitors playing in the division in which they qualified, even if no longer in that division.

Congratulations to Jan and Helen as they have both qualified to play in the Grand Final, to be played on the Eden Course, St Andrews, on Sunday 16th June. Good luck girls!

FRIENDLY MATCH V GOUROCK

The first team match of the season took place today with a Friendly Match at home against 6 ladies from Gourock.
Our team was made up of Louise Cooper, Lilias Snodgrass, Eleanor Cannon, Morag Cunningham, Marissa Barr and Senga Nixon - some of whom were playing in a match for the first time.
I am delighted to report that Ranfurly Castle won the match 5-1 and everyone enjoyed the experience and the soup and sandwiches afterwards.
We look forward to a return game at Gourock next year, when Gourock will enjoy the home advantage.
