CATHCART CASTLE LADIES OUTING 2025

 This year our outing was able to take place on a lovely & sunny afternoon at Cathcart Castle Golf Club.  There were some quirky par 3s on the course but it was most enjoyable.  The meal that followed was exceptionally good and my compliments to their catering team.  I would like to thank Eleanor for organising this through her brother in law, Hamish, who is the present captain at Cathcart Castle.

LADIES SECTION ANNUAL GOLF OUTING 2025

 Please find below the details for this years Ladies Section Golf Outing which will take place on Tuesday September 2nd at Cathcart Castle Golf Club.  I am very grateful to Eleanor Stewart who was able to negotiate such a great package and I hope that many of you will be able to play.  In view of the timeframe, I would be grateful if you would leave FULL payment in an envelope and place in the tin in our locker room. Please sign up for the 2024 outing as soon as possible. It will be a great day out, with a fun competition. 

Car sharing can be organised. 

ANNUAL GOLF OUTING

The annual outing has been arranged for Tuesday 27th August at Rowallan Castle Golf Club.  The cost will be £64.95 and this includes a roll and tea or coffee on arrival and a 2 course meal after golf.  There is now a sign up sheet on the notice board in the locker room.  Please sign before 22nd July if you wish to attend.  It is hoped that there will be a good uptake and that we have a really fun day out!  If you are unable to get to the Club to sign, contact either Kate or Pauline and they will add your name. 

 

AUCHTERARDER OUTING

 21 Ladies enjoyed a lovely day at Auchterarder Golf Club on 29th August.  Captain Karen managed to arrange a very special deal for us to enjoy this beautiful and quirky course.  Teams of 3 played the 1,2,3 format and the winning team was Jan Macnab, Sheila Biggart and Vicky Rennie.  Several fun prizes were also awarded.

From the photos it looks a bit like a whitewash but......... Joy McLeod won the booby prize for highest score on a par 3!!!

CAWDER OUTING

Thursday 8th September was our first golf outing for 2 years.  This became a very memorable date for another reason.  We were are all so sad to hear that the Queen was gravely ill when our round was finished, but that was nothing compared with the announcement given at 6.30 pm that the Queen had died.  What an amazing life of service she had given this country - even still working 2 days before she died.  We now look forward to the Reign of King Charles 111.

Back to the golf - winning team on the day was Helen Abram, Pat Pennel and Karen Binning with 48 points - well done!  Morag thought it would be nice to recognise the poor team finishing last - nice new wooden spoons for Anne Robinson, Julie Will and Kate Scott!

Just one final prize - not a silver trophy - for being lucky enough to end up in the most bunkers.  Congratulations Kate!

LADIES OUTING 2019

Thanks to Marion Munro for organising the successful annual Ladies Outing to Hilton Park on Wednesday 21st August. 24 ladies enjoyed hot rolls before play, 18 holes (in most cases) and a two course meal when we came in. There was enough dry weather for everyone to enjoy at least some of their golf, although by the end it was a bit miserable particularly for the later starters.

The Allander Course provided lovely views, was not too long (although quite hilly in places!) and had the advantage of coming back to the clubhouse after 9 holes.

The winners were Jan Macnab, Rosemary Ogilvy and Cynthia Keanie with 52 pts,

Runners up Agnes Williamson, Joy McLeod and Pamela MacKenzie with 49 pts

and Jean Murray holed the longest putt on the 9th green - 141 inches!
