Unfortunately the weather beat us again and no one played in the competition today. Here’s hoping for something better for the medal next week.
The final of the Winter 12 hole Knockout competition was played on Monday with Jan Macnab beating Sheila Biggart in a very close fought match going down to the last putt.
Well done to Jan.
Just to let you know the Club Diaries should be arriving in about 10 days time, price £2.

BEAST OF THE EAST
Well it looks like no bounce game tomorrow as the Beast of the East has put the tin lid on things.
Hopefully some of us will make it up for a bite of lunch about 12.30pm.
Marion
Oh dear! The Beast has well and truly bitten this morning. I don’t think we will make lunch today!!!

2018 R&A 9-HOLE PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP
There is a change of date for this new competition which now takes place on Sunday 15th April.
It’s is now open to all full members, male and female. Pairs can also be mixed. Enter with or without a partner. If you don’t have a partner we will do our best to allocate one for you. Each player will take his or her own score as it will be a counting competition played over holes 4 - 12. Play will commence from the first tee but holes 1 - 3 will not be recorded. This will allow the competition to run smoothly.
The team score is calculated from the combined Stableford points of both players. The leading club pair will qualify for the National 9-Hole Final at Milnathort Golf Club on Friday 15th June 2018.
The leading 4 pairs from the National Final will advance to the 9-Hole Grand Final which will take place at Carnoustie on Saturday 14th July where Scottish qualifiers will compete against winning pairs from England, Ireland and Wales.
The sheet for signing up will be on the main golf club notice board. Times will be allocated for you.
Here’s hoping we have a good day and we have as many entries as possible.

PLAYING IN OF CAPTAINS
Just to say thank you to all who came on Saturday morning to see the playing in of the Captains. Just a pity the weather had the upper hand and the 9 hole competition for the Captain’s Quaich did not take place. Hopefully it will be re-sheduled.
Thanks also go to the Rawson boys for retrieving the balls.

SCOTTISH GOLF CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS, VIDEO & FEEDBACK
From the Scottish Golf Website
Dear Golfer
Thank you for attending The Future of Golf Conference in Edinburgh earlier this month.
We hope you enjoyed the presentations, discussions and the opportunity to take part in the debate around finding solutions to the challenges we face in our game. It was great to meet so many people with a passion for the game across the golfing spectrum and gain opinion, insights and feedback which will shape our future direction.
Our Board and staff team have been working hard to collate the content from the Conference and this e-newsletter pack provides a recap for you, which we hope you will share with your fellow golfers.
Over the coming weeks, the Board of Scottish Golf will be meeting to discuss how we use these insights to deliver our strategy of growing participation in golf and building stronger clubs. The feedback we have had has been hugely positive and we look forward to harnessing the collective power of clubs and golfers to create a brighter future for our game.
Thank you for your continued support.
Eleanor Cannon, Executive Chair - Scottish Golf
Scottish Golf have themed all the general comments, suggestions and feedback from delegates attending the Conference to give you a full overview of the opinions coming in on the day, which they will take on board in their discussions.
