As I am sure most of you will be aware , the Daily Mail Foursomes Qualifier was cancelled due to the course being flooded and in fact CLOSED.
As there are very few playing days left this season and the Winter Greensomes already having been rescheduled in October , it has been decided that the winners of the Coronation Foursomes earlier in the season will represent the club next year.
Jan Macnab and Sheila Biggart will represent Ranfurly Castle GC next season - Good Luck !
Monday 25th September saw 10 tables of Ladies enjoy our annual Bridge afternoon. Everyone enjoyed and excellent afternoon tea prepared and served by the Ladies Committee as well as some good cards. A huge thank you to Vicky Rennie who organised and ran the afternoon.
Winners of the Small Slam prize were Cynthia Keanie and her partner while the over all winner of the afternoon was Vivien Howe. £235.00 was raised for the Captain's Charity, Quarriers.

The entry sheet for the Daily Mail Foursomes is now on the notice board. This will be played on Wed 20th Sept. Please sign up a soon as possible, with a partner, and a draw for times and playing team will be done just before the date.
The Captain's team played the Vice Captain's team on 30th September. The format was Foursomes match play which resulted in a resounding win for Captain Karen. The putter was presented by a Past Lady Captain called Winnie Kerr, hence the name!!

21 Ladies enjoyed a lovely day at Auchterarder Golf Club on 29th August. Captain Karen managed to arrange a very special deal for us to enjoy this beautiful and quirky course. Teams of 3 played the 1,2,3 format and the winning team was Jan Macnab, Sheila Biggart and Vicky Rennie. Several fun prizes were also awarded.

From the photos it looks a bit like a whitewash but......... Joy McLeod won the booby prize for highest score on a par 3!!!
A very exciting and close match was played on Sunday 27th August between Jan Macnab and Allison Murray. A good crowd of members followed the match in support and they were certainly not disappointed with the wonderful golf on display. The match was decided on the 18th green when Allison holed a long put to take the Trophy. Well done to both ladies and to the two Caddies for keeping their players calm throughout.

This year the Halden Cup was convincingly won by the Ladies, 6 1/2 - 2 1/2. Alistair presented Karen with the enormous Trophy(!) and congratulated all the ladies who had played so well. Everyone enjoyed a relaxed lunch afterwards with plenty of chat.

Saturday 2nd September, Old Ranfurly, fundraiser in aid if Alzheimer Scotland.
A shoes fitting event will take place in the CASTLE LOUNGE on Wednesday 23rd August between 11am and 3pm.
Suzanne, Chloe and Tina at SK Fitness are doing a 24 hour cycle from 8am on Friday 18th August until 8am on Saturday 19th August There will always be one of them in the saddle .
A bake sale is also taking place on Friday and Saturday in the clubhouse to support this cause.
Donation buckets are available in the clubhouse.
