The West Ren Team have had a really good year and have finished top of Division 1. The Team organiser Helen was presented with the Trophy at the recent AGM. Helen very kindly hosted a celebration evening for the team, where everyone got a chance to see the Trophy. Congratulations to all who played their part, including Alison Templeton, who is missing from the photo.

Renfrewshire County Golf Association held it's AGM on 1st November at Haggs Castle Golf Club. The weather was not great and this affected the turn out on the evening but, despite that, about 40 ladies made the effort to be present. Ranfurly Castle's Jan Macnab had a very good year and was either winner or runner up in many of the competitions. The attached photo shows Jan with Allison Murray and the Greensomes Trophy, which they won, having played over Gourock Golf Course. Jan and Joy formed two thirds of the Tri-am winning team, having played over Cathcart Castle in very challenging conditions. In fact, Ranfurly Castle was closed that day due to the bad weather!!
On Wenesday 25th October 48 ladies enjoyed a great evening at the annual dinner. Karen had arranged for Leigh Maybury, a Life Style specialist, to give us a few tips on personal colours ,while also having a 'pop up' shop. This proved popular with quite a few!
The dinner was excellent and Leanna and her team did a wonderful job. The raffle for Quarriers was well supported with some lovely prizes. Judging by the volume of chatter the evening was a big success. A huge thank you to Karen for all her organisation - as well as the lovely tablet, chocolates and Fizz.
The draw for the 12 Hole Winter Knockout is now on the notice board along with the score card with the 12 hole stroke index.

The Ladies Annual Dinner will take place on Wednesday 25th October beginning at 18.30 with a 'bubbly' reception. Dinner will follow at around 19.00, finishing with tea/coffee and some sweet treats.
Throughout the evening , the prizes for this years fun competitions will be presented and we will be entertained by Leigh Maybury of 'Life with Style' who will give us a few fashion tips. Leigh will have a pop up shop, so you may like to start your Christmas shopping!
The dinner will also be a last chance to try and raise some more funds for Quarriers - my chosen charity this year. Please remember to bring some money for the raffle. There is a lovely afternoon tea at House For An Art Lover to be won among some other lovely prizes. Leigh has also offered to donate 10% of all her profits on the night!

As I am sure most of you will be aware , the Daily Mail Foursomes Qualifier was cancelled due to the course being flooded and in fact CLOSED.
As there are very few playing days left this season and the Winter Greensomes already having been rescheduled in October , it has been decided that the winners of the Coronation Foursomes earlier in the season will represent the club next year.
Jan Macnab and Sheila Biggart will represent Ranfurly Castle GC next season - Good Luck !
