Greenlees Team win Away at Whitecraigs

Well done to all the ladies who played yesterday at Whitecraigs and came away with a resounding win 6.5 to 2.5 in what were testing weather conditions. What a great start to your season. We wish you the best of luck in your next game on 8th June at Milngavie.

CENTENARY TROPHY STROKEPLAY - CHANGE OF DATE

The May Medal and Club Championship Qualifier has been rescheduled to be played on Wednesday 20th May.  The RLCGA Spring Meeting is being held at Ranfurly Castle on Friday 22nd May, therefore the Centenary Trophy Strokeplay will now take place on Friday 17th July.
This further change will hopefully ensure a reasonable turnout for all of the competitions.

Fun Yellow Ball Stableford

24 ladies played in the Yellow Ball Stableford today, Friday 8th May 2015.  The weather was kind to us and the sun even made an appearance.  ALL eight yellow balls were returned-that must be a first!

Winner - Anne Robinson, Mary Irving and Christ Minto with 79 points
Runners up (bih) - Sarah Eckford, Anne Nicoll and Carol Reid with 75 points.

Medal & Club Championship Qualifier

Although the course is not closed, James has advised some of the greens are unplayable at the moment and it will be later in the morning when the rain stops before they can be cleared. As this would give an unfair advantage to ladies going out later in the day, the competition had been cancelled today and rescheduled for Wednesday 20th May. The Centenary  Trophy Strokeplay will be played on Thursday 21st May.

NINE HOLE STABLEFORD 29th APRIL 2015

Due to the extreme weather conditions to-day, there were no entries for this competition. Please note however that there are 9 hole stableford competitions on Tuesday 19th May, 2nd June, 7th July and 11th August open to full and associate members. There is also one on Wednesday the 16th September open to full members only. If the fixture diary allows, and if possible, we will try and fit in another Wednesday 9 hole stableford later in the year.  

Social Evening.Thursday 23rd April 2015

Twenty seven ladies enjoyed a very entertaining evening.
Firstly, June Giles gave a moving account of the history of the charity 5oo Miles and we went on to take part in The Big Dinner.
Thanks to your generosity the sum of £312 was raised for the Charity. This was followed by an informative and humourous talk and powerpoint presentation by James Parker explaining the science behind greenkeeping and including the ever increasing role of women, and much much more.
A question and answer session followed --- We now know where to leave our bunker rakes and why sandy greens are a necessary evil!
Thank you to all who supported the event.

Well ladies was trying out posting on website!! Having started I should finish.  Just wanted everyone to know we had a very successful RLCGA County Championship at Ralston GC with Denise Cowan, Marion Munro, Anne Judge and Carol Fell all playing in the knockout stages .  Marion and Anne lost in the first round, Carol in the quarter finals  and Denise lost in semi finals to eventual County Champion, Gillian Kyle. 

Well done to them all.

Ladies Golf Outing - 2015

Our Annual Golf Outing will take place on WEDNESDAY 23RD SEPTEMBER TO BOTHWELL CASTLE GOLF CLUB.
The price is the rather unusual sum of £40.80, this includes a hot filled roll with tea/coffee on arrival,
one round of golf and a two course meal with tea or coffee.
I hope if you can manage you will join us, I am assured it is a lovely course.

Re -scheduling of 9 hole competition

We have been unable to book our outing on the two preferred dates and have rescheduled the September 9 hole Stableford Competition .
It will now be played on Wedndesday 16th September instead of 23rd September.
The outing will now take place of Wednesday 23rd September - to Bothwell Castle Golf Club.
The notice will go up in the locker room later today.

EASTER FUN COMPETITION

18 Ladies played in the Easter Competition which proved to be a little more of a challenge than expected.  Along with playing golf, we were searching for  Bunnies and, at times, the green was playing hide and seek as well! 
Over lunch the ladies showed off their creative side and sported some wonderfully original Easter Bonnets and a prize was awarded to Helen Crichton for  her efforts.
The winners of the golf were Anne Judge, Helen Dunn and Vicky Rennie with a score of 54 points.
Runners up were Sheila Biggart, Pamela MacKenzie and Alison Robertson with a score of 50 points.
A great day was had by all and a big thank you is due to Lilias Snodgrass and Chris Minto for their organisation of the event.

Unfortunately the weather has beaten us today and the April Medal has been re scheduled for next Wednesday, 8th April.
