40 Ladies enjoyed a lovely evening on Wednesday 26th October with excellent food, accompanied by a lot of chat and laughter. Captain Morag presented the prizes to the winners of the Fun Competitions held during the year and read out the winners of all Medals and Stablefords. The next competition will be the Xmas event followed by lunch on Wednesday 7th December.
28 ladies played in this final event of the season on Wednesday 19 October 2022.
Several scores were very good for 12 holes!
Winner: Gillian Donaghy with 27 points.
Carol Barnes, Rosemary Ogilvie and Kate Scott all tied for 2nd place with 26 points, but the official runner-up (after a count-back) was Carol Barnes.
Well played to everyone. We hope you have all enjoyed the 2022 golf season.

There are still a few days left to sign up for the ladies dinner being held on Wednesday 26th October 6.30pm for 7pm.
Cost £25 per head to include welcome drink but NOT gratuity.
Sign up sheet and menu on the ladies locker room noticeboard - please indicate menu choices.
Could all ladies ensure that they pay Leanna BEFORE Wednesday 26th September as time constraints on the night mean it will be difficult for Leanna to accept payments.
Also Leanna has asked that we indicate our choice of welcome drink in advance on the sign up sheet - either a small glass of fizz (option 1)or a non-alcoholic G&T (option 2).
Many thanks, and look forward to seeing you in the clubhouse on 26th.

Thursday 8th September was our first golf outing for 2 years. This became a very memorable date for another reason. We were are all so sad to hear that the Queen was gravely ill when our round was finished, but that was nothing compared with the announcement given at 6.30 pm that the Queen had died. What an amazing life of service she had given this country - even still working 2 days before she died. We now look forward to the Reign of King Charles 111.
Back to the golf - winning team on the day was Helen Abram, Pat Pennel and Karen Binning with 48 points - well done! Morag thought it would be nice to recognise the poor team finishing last - nice new wooden spoons for Anne Robinson, Julie Will and Kate Scott!
Just one final prize - not a silver trophy - for being lucky enough to end up in the most bunkers. Congratulations Kate!

28 ladies had an enjoyable match for the historic Pooh Putter for the first time since 2019.
Traditionally the match is between the Lady Captains team and the Lady Vice Captains team. This year the players were drawn at random to play for either the Lady Captain or the Past Lady Captain.
The result was a resounding win for the Past Captains Team.
Captain Morag and Past Captain Gillian
We must all thank the ladies who are playing on behalf of the club in this prestigious league.
Having been promoted to Div 1 after last years campaign, our team have battled hard in the matches against very strong opposition.
Recent results:
Ladies, with autumn coming upon us and the last ladies' competitions of the season to be held over the next 6 weeks or so, a gentle reminder that you need to submit 4 scores this year for your handicap if you wish to play in ladies' handicap competitions next year (inc knock-outs and tri-ams).
These scores do not need to be in competitions - you can submit General Play scores, either over 18 holes or over the 9 hole course. There is no book to sign and the scores can be submitted using your phone App. If anyone needs help or advice on submitting General Play scores, please just ask me, or Stuart in the Pro Shop can no doubt help on the day if he is around.
For the avoidance of doubt, no handicaps will lapse under the new system, the 4 card requirement is for ladies competitions only. It was agreed by the Ladies Committee at the end of last year and announced at the AGM in January, and has been introduced in an attempt to make things fairer for all players.

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER MEDAL. Played 3 September 2022. 4 entries
